Beyond moissanite, sapphires are also a beautiful choice for a center stone — available in an array of shades, from classic blue to teal, yellow, pink, purple, and even white. For those drawn to the beauty of nature, the deep green of emeralds exudes timeless elegance and organic charm.
If you’re seeking something truly distinctive, consider gemstones such as aqua agate, alexandrite, opal, sunstone, or moonstone — each offering a unique character and allure.
If your chosen design isn’t a solitaire ring, remember to also consider the accent stones, as they play an important role in enhancing the overall harmony and brilliance of the piece.

3. Select A Metal
Choosing the right metal is essential to ensure your ring’s lasting beauty and durability. At MollyJewelryUS, we typically offer 925 sterling silver, 14K gold, and 18K gold on our product pages. However, we also craft rings in 10K gold, platinum, and palladium upon request.
While silver rings are an affordable option, they are more prone to oxidation and wear over time. Gold-plated silver pieces may also lose their golden hue with frequent use. Solid gold remains a timeless and durable choice, while platinum and palladium are excellent for those who love the elegant, cool-toned look of white metals and value long-term durability.

The last thing anyone wants is for a stone to fall out of their ring — and selecting the right setting for your chosen gemstone shape plays a key role in preventing this.
Our round prong setting is the most popular choice, offering excellent stability while allowing maximum light to enter the stone for brilliant sparkle. The petite claw prong, a refined blend of round and claw styles, offers enhanced protection for cabochon stones (especially opals) without covering too much of their surface.
For angular shapes like the princess, shield, or marquise cut, we recommend cornered prongs. This setting not only preserves the sharp, clean lines of the gemstone but also provides extra security for its delicate corners.
